Crowley Natural & Cultural History Museum, Myakka

On our way!

We had great luck, a songwriter/performer called Steve Sanders asked if he could perform while the girls had their lunch. What a treat! You can check him out at: www.SnapdragonSeedsMusic.com

The biggest hit of this trip was definitely the ZIP LINE!

One of the amazing wood sculptures, carved out of trees still in the ground

Next to the zip line there were a bunch of animals, among them this big pig

Big spider web

The number one invasive plant in Florida, the Brazilian Pepper Tree. The reason it is so bad is not just that it grows quickly and crowd other native plants out, it also give off a toxin in the ground around it, so other plants cannot grow.

During our visit the girls got certified in identifying and removing an invasive plant called Caesar weed.

Some yummy lemonade before heading back home. We had a really great outing, it was a really nice day!

Wal-Mart February 6

The girls worked on the Savvy Shopper badge at Wal-Mart
Kelsey's mom Jessica shared some of her cool tips and tricks for how to be a savvy shopper...

 Gillian picking out some bananas

 Katana checking out salad dressing

 Delaney double-checking her list

Emily zipping down one of the lanes

 Kelsey filling her cart

Ashley met a lady that had worked in law enforcement, and she showed her how easily it is for bad guys to steal your purse if you don't watch out

Bishop Animal Shelter / Movies

The girls dropped off donated supplies to the Bishop Animal Shelter, as well as cat beds they had made themselves. We found out that because the cute Pictures that were taken with the girls during our last visit, the dog, Dottie, in the Pictures (that had been featured on their Facebook page) got adopted.

They took new Pictures with Another sweet dog named Neo, in hopes they would have the same luck with him. He is the kind of dog that don't show well in the enclosure, Barking too much, but when out with people he is a total sweetheart! And he was very good with the kids. We hope Neo gets his forever home soon! :-)

 Who doesn't love kittens!

Lots of cats to cuddle with...

This girl was 12 years old... hope she can get a home of her own soon, so sweet!

 Meet Neo!

Please visit Bishop Animal Shelter if you are looking to adopt. It is a great shelter. You can read more about them on their Facebook-page, as well as see dogs available for adoption: Bishop Animal Shelter

After Bishop we went to the Desoto Mall where the girls had lunch and saw the movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. They all had a great time!
